The moments the bride and groom spend alone after their wedding ceremony are some of the most special moments of the day. We love to capture those moments without intruding on them, we never want to change that emotion the couple is feeling right then. The love and peaceful inner peace after the rush of the ceremony comes across in our photographs because we let the couple be themselves, rather than making them fit a mold made by someone else. This image of Victoria and Abel, across from the Botanical Gardens in Balboa Park, is an excellent example of why we love what we do as San Diego Wedding Photographers.
This was done right after the ceremony, Victoria, Abel and the two of us walked just a little way down from the Prado to a quiet little enclave with the Botanical Garden’s distinctive building in the background. With the two of us shooting with different focal length lenses, we always get several different angles and looks for the bride and groom. This couple had such a classic, timeless look we had a hard time keeping ourselves to just our scheduled time.
The view of the Botanical Building with the Lily Pond and Lagoon in the foreground is one of the most photographed scenes in Balboa Park and a “must-see” destination in San Diego. Built for the 1915-16 Exposition, along with the adjacent Lily Pond and Lagoon, the historic building is one of the largest lath structures in the world. The Botanical Building plantings include more than 2,100 permanent plants, featuring fascinating collections of cycads, ferns, orchids, other tropical plants and palms. The Botanical Building also presents some of the Park’s vibrant seasonal flower displays
