To get this beautiful portrait of a bride on her wedding day at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, we got away from the way we usually shoot. This is fully natural sunlight lighting this, no flash, just a little reflected from camera right. One thing often overlooked by wedding photographers, especially ones new to the genre, is that they need to know everything possible about shooting in all lighting conditions. To limit oneself to "all natural light" or to become too dependent on flash will limit the photographer's ability to get the best possible image.
This was shot with a Canon 5D with a 70-200 f2.8L IS mounted. A small silver reflector put light on the model's face from the late afternoon sun filtering through the surrounding trees. A simple layout that gives a simply beautiful result.
