Wedding Photographer at Los Willows Wedding Estates

When you're shooting a wedding, you have to be aware of everything that's going on around you. I shoot a lot of motorsports and shot a lot of sports in general when I was a kid. Doing that, I learned to shoot with both eyes open, both literally and figuratively. Having the eye that's not up to the viewfinder open, you can catch things in your peripheral vision that are important or interesting that you might miss otherwise. Having that eye open figuratively means that you are mentally aware of those things going on around you and not just cruising through the day. As a wedding photographer at Los Willows Wedding Estates, there's a lot going on, all the time. Guests, bride and groom, the party, so much to see and you have to be able to capture most, if not all, of it.
This image was shot with a Canon 5D and their 70-200 f2.8L IS lens, which allowed me to get tight on our very emotional groom and the support he was getting from his best man and brother. A very important shot that I got when I was actually supposed to be getting the bride coming down the aisle. Having "both eyes wide open" let me do both. I got a great moment and I got the bride coming down the aisle, too!
