That first dance...it may seem cliched but it's always a memory maker, remembered for years and whenever "that song" comes on somewhere. It's always a moment that the happy couple gets into a world of their own, removed from the "madding crowd" around them. You can't tell it from this photo, but we try very hard to stay low key and capture the emotions and love, but here, the bride had a keen sense of where there was a camera! We played a game all night of trying to sneak up on her and get a candid!
The ballroom in the Beverly Mansion is really beautiful. The bride and groom make their way in for the grand entrance down a spectacular staircase into the room wind their way to the sweetheart table on the stage at the other end. They usually stop at the dance floor for their first dance, as this couple did.
Shot with a Canon 5D mkIII and 24-70 f2.8L, with the 600 EX-RT bounced off of the ceiling, it picks up quite a bit of ambient light and I think the color is excellent.
