Shot for a wedding magazine, San Diego Style Weddings, this Steampunk style image was part of a really fun day for us! We love our couples, their great ideas and the beautiful details they bring to us, but it's a lot of fun to just give our imaginations free reign to go wherever they want! We'd been wanting to do a Steampunk themed wedding for sometime, so when the publisher came to us with the idea, we just had to grab it and run with it. We gathered some great vendors to work with, gowns, cakes, tuxes, flowers were all covered and beautiful. This spectacular head piece on our "bride" was a real attention grabber, too. We had a problem with our male model for the day, so one of our assistant's friends stepped in admirably to do groom duty!
Shot at late afternoon in the Meadow area of Los Willows, the soft light filtering through the trees really needed no assistance from flash in this one. My old trusty 5D really nailed the color and tones, my Canon 135 f2L did it's thing as one of Canon's finest lenses. That lens is crazy sharp at f4, which is what I shot this at. It's one of my favorite images I've taken, ever!
