As you can probably tell if you've been looking at our portfolio that we have a weakness for monochrome images. Black and white, in our opinion as wedding photographers, has a timeless quality that color just doesn't have. Ally and Scott had a rather timeless quality to themselves, as it was, so it was easy to visualize the day as a classic, black and white look.
This photo was taken during the vows and her little smile really shows the love she has for Scott, I think. She's listening to the officiant (her brother, by the way) coach Scott through the vows.
Los Willows Wedding Estate is a great little private wedding venue in North San Diego County. There are extensive grounds with beautiful scenery and lots of opportunities for great photos! We love working there, and all of our couples love it there, too.
This image was shot with a Canon 5D mkIII and 70-200 f2.8L IS lens. That lens focal length is one of the three considered to be critical for wedding work. A wide angle, like the 16-35 f2.8L, a standard zoom like the 24-70 f2.8L and a medium/long zoom like the 70-200 f2.8L IS are indispensable for getting the right image at the right time.
