This image was done during a styled shoot for a wedding magazine. It was a combination vintage and Steampunk themed shoot with a wonderful model. I love this tight head shot and the way her eyes stand out so, even in black and white. As far as that black and white, what could be more appropriate for a vintage shoot? I really like the tonality we got in this image, mostly because of the quality of the lenses we use with a little bit of editing (besides the conversion to monochrome.)
This model was a last minute substitution, but she pitched right in and worked hard to get us the images we needed for the magazine, San Diego Style Weddings. Our stylists got it, too. We had some great costuming and props!
This image was shot with a Canon 5D mkIII and Canon 24-70 f2.8L, one of the best lenses on the market. Shot on a longer focal length but tight like this minimizes distortion that can come from a wide lens too close. The f8 aperture gave very nice depth of field and still delivered a nicely blurred background.
