The Hotel Del Coronado is one of San Diego's oldest and most prestigious hotels and resorts, dating back to the 1870s. It was, in fact, the first hotel in the United States to have electric lighting! It continues to this day to be a popular place for any gathering, offering two of the area's most highly rated restaurants and many other amenities. This is one reason it is such a popular place for weddings. The other being, of course, the beach and Pacific Ocean!
The architecture of the hotel is iconic, even the resort at Disney World in Orlando, Fl. takes its cues from the Hotel Del, as the locals call it.
This photo is of one of our brides on the beach outside the hotel. Even the bright sun can't dim the glow of this girl! She wrote her name in the sand, as part of making a memory of the day.
Taken with a Canon 5D and 24-70 f2.8L, a little fill flash is all it takes to balance the early afternoon light. We really liked the high key look of the pale sand and sky.
